I have consulted for, and produced policy research for several state and non-state actors, including the Executive Office of Dubai, the Government of Palestine, the United Nations Development Programme (Jerusalem), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (Vienna), as well as a number of think tanks and research institutes.
In this space I will be posting the latest (and public) policy reports I develop or contribute to.
Recent policy projects I have worked on include:
African Economic Outlook 2012 – Special Theme: Promoting Youth Employment” is a leading publication of the African Development Bank, developed with a number of institutional partners including UNDP and UNECA – which I strongly urge you to consult, for excellent analysis and forecasting data.
I coordinated research teams for 9 countries in the report – all of North Africa (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania) + Seychelles, South Africa, and Tanzania.
“Enabling Entrepreneurship in Egypt: Towards a Sustainable Dynamic Model“, a policy-oriented report of which I am the lead author and which assesses the Egyptian entrepreneurship support institutional environment and, with the use of global best practices, develops actionable recommendations.
The report is published by the Entrepreneurs Business Forum; contact them directly for hard copies.
You can download the report here.
It was also republished by the MIT Press Journal “INNOVATIONS: Technology | Governance | Globalization” in a December 2011 Special Issue which can be downloaded here.
