Dear readers – apologies for the long silence! It’s been an exhausting and exciting couple of weeks.
I’m wrapping up my current consultancy in Tunisia, and it’s exciting as the product I’ve been working on – the African Economic Outlook – is taking shape and the 2012 report launch is coming up very soon!
It’s also exciting because it means moving on to a new project – and new possibilities.
Meanwhile I’ve been doing some travelling lately –
On April 29th I spoke at TEDx University of Chicago – the conference was held under the theme of “Revolutions”. (you’d think I’d have my talk made with a theme like this, but I tried to be a little more creative!) Will post video as soon as it’s available.
I am now in Shanghai attending the HP Global Influencer Summit 2012. Mind you, I think that by “Influencer” they are referring not to us but to themselves (notice how it’s influencer, not influencers?). Will be filing up a newspaper story and possibly a blog post from here. In the meantime, the folks at Engadget are live-updating the thing. Will also try to write about the non-conference aspects of my trip to China. Which is as fabulous as I expected it to be. I had only spent time in Hong Kong (and one day in the south of Guangdong) so it’s amazing to be in Beijing and Shanghai.
And in a couple of weeks I’ll be speaking at the Google Internet at Liberty conference in DC. Which I’m also veeeeery excited about.
So, that’s my update.
How have you been?
