It’s been a lousy day all things considered – with the official announcement of the Morsy-Shafeeq run-off, but the comic relief was that a nice hacker broke into the Muslim Brotherhood Twitter accounts, and changed IkhwanWeb’s photo into that of Khaled Said.
Pretty nice actually, the hacker actually sent tweets to point out that it was the hacker not the original administrator, before proceeding to write “Down with military rule, down with the Muslim Brotherhood”, retweeting Alaa Al-Aswani, and cracking jokes with people. S/he then vowed to return the account to the Ikhwan, if they kept Khaled Said’s photo.
As promised, s/he restored the accounts at midnight.
The full history is here and here actually, since the Ikhwan deleted some tweets when they regained control.
The nice epilogue? the Ikhwan people kept Khaled Said’s photo. 🙂
